Epilepsy Seizure Alert Watch & App

Curricular project for Methodology of Interaction Design at KTH.

S.A.W– Seizure alert Watch– is an interactive assistive technology to support and improve the epilepsy patient’s life, the main function is to send seizure alert to medical centre and patient’s family, and monitor patient’s daily body status, daily pills reminders.

We as a group did some research on epilepsy and epileptic seizures, interviewed the Swedish Epilepsy Association at its head office in Stockholm. And we have did a competitor research.

   Unfortunately, no epilepsy organization replied our request of interviewing real epilepsy patients so due to the time limit, we didn’t have chance to do further user interviews.

Based on the data we collected from the previous study, we started to analysis behaviour variables, tried to find patterns in the group of people and synthesize the characters.

Started to do sketch and explore possibilities.

We had a brainstorming session to come up with different wearable technologies. And then vote for the best one.

User-based Evaluation

Then, we did a user based evaluation to evaluate the usability functions and features of this application.

We prepared 6 questions, tested our product with 6 participants, and asked them to do 7 tasks.

Final Prototype
